introductions & welcome

Ok ok I know I’m jumping the gun about it, but when I say that summer’s nearly over and fall is almost upon us, it’s not because I want to ignore the lazy hazy sunny days of an Indian Summer, but because I really do get excited around the thought of fall.

The reason for this early statement is because I get a certain rumble of excitement in my stummy when I think about fall. I love fall, I just love it, everything about it.  I love the turning of the leaves, the golden hues of sunset and most of all, a big fat juicy Vogue with tons of new advertisements, Fall Trend Reports all the new fall/winter collections.  It’s enough to make my heart go pitter patter, to skip a beat, to feel as though I’m walking on air…. Ok ok again, I know I’m sounding a bit excitable. But to tell you the truth there is something about fall that always reminds me of renewal. Maybe it’s the internal student in me that makes me think of new clothes, new shoes, new hair and makeup but there is something about fall that is more New Years than New Years.

This is the reason I felt it the appropriate time to launch the domenico & drea blog. Anyone that knows me knows that I am a bit of a procrastinator and this blog has been in the works for quite some time. I registered the name with Tumblr ages ago, I have even gone through various template but never a post. It’s not that I was scared, I was always waiting – waiting for the right time.

It was actually the appearance of the September Issues in my mailbox that inspired me to get down to business.  I love the glossy pages, the thickness of the issues, almost double in most cases, it’s beautiful it really is. But it’s not just the beauty of is, it’s the content.  The pages and pages of new material, the Fall Trend Reports , the outrageous new designs collections  set to challenge our notion of fashion and the fashion world, the hair, the make up. All of it….

This is the stuff that inspires me, the stuff that makes me want to think and write and share. So when asked again why I chose to launch my blog in late August ,  well I hope this first post has given you a idea as to how much I love this time of year and why.

So I want to take this time to formally welcome you to domenico&drea . I promise you this is the first and the last of the long winded posts.  So if you came with me on this journey from the top of page to bottom then thank you.  Welcome, stay awhile, we’re gonna talk fashion, hair, makeup, tools, and tons of products, and there will even be something for the boyfriends, fiancée’s and hubby’s  too,  so no one is left out.
